Woefully behind on a Monday moanin’

Yeah. The blog’s been a bit dormant the last few days, I know. I’ve been a busy girl. Spent the morning having breakfast with my Music Man while discussing several home improvement projects that need to be done, and then shopping for said equipment.

However, I do have a piece of news to share–and that’s the cover for my August 2007 release; what I’ve commonly called my Phantom of the Opera book. I think the cover says it all, and I love it.

What do you think?

In other news, I got word last week that my publisher wants me to write another book in the same vein as Unmasqued. This one will be a very sexy take on…The Count of Monte Cristo. I can’t wait to get working on it!

Late-breaking edits: I took the cover image down, ’cause, much as I loved it, I learned there might yet be some changes to it. So…stay tuned!

    Looks beautiful!

Ditto bonnie on The Count book!

Beautiful cover ~ I’m looking forward to this.

Congratulations on the Count book! Sounds like you have some wonderful books that will be out soon.

  6. Sally Painter says:

Great cover, Colleen. Your book sounds super. I caught your trailer over on Cos Productions page on myspace. It was super, too!

    Congrats!

  7. Carl V. says:

I agree with everyone, the cover is great. I really like the reds and golds in the theatre background.

  8. Alyssa Goodnight says:

You are getting so lucky with awesome covers! Congrats on your contract for another like this one…

Saw your ‘dinner out’ post…about eight years ago I went to a deli in Ann Arbor called Amer’s. Sounds sort of disgusting, but I had the BEST coleslaw sandwich there!

  9. Caryle says:

It’s beautiful! I can’t wait to read it.

  10. Lara Adrian says:

Damn, girl! You have two of the most beautiful covers I’ve ever seen! Congratulations on this latest one–I love it!!

And yeah to what everyone else is saying about the Count of Monte Cristo novel. Love that story, and can’t wait to read an erotic take on it. WTG!

  11. Colleen Gleason says:

Ooh, thanks for being excited with me!

(I realized after I reread the post later in the day that by asking what you thought, well, what are you going to say but that you love it? LOL!)

Anyway, for those of you who don’t recognize it, that picture of the theater is actually from the Opera Garnier, which is the Paris Opera House haunted by the Phantom. I visited it in March and that’s it.

And as for the Count…I’m actually reading the book right now–I read a version of it long ago, and have seen the movies, but need a refresher. And let me tell you, the unabridged version is one long book! 1243 pages. But I’m enjoying it very much and can hardly pull away from it to work on Gardella #3, which is tentatively titled When Darkness Comes.

  12. Jennifer Smith/Ila Campbell says:

    It’s absolutely perfect, Colleen!

  13. Diana Peterfreund says:

The cover is gorge, Colleen. Very very classy.

And you’re reading the Buss translation, right? Absolutely essential! Lord, I love that book!

    ~Diana

  14. Colleen Gleason says:

I sure am, Diana. It was the biggest, thickest, juiciest version on the shelf–and I remembered your rec when I picked it up.

Am really enjoying it. Too bad I have a different book to write, or I’d not put the Count down.

  15. Heather Harper says:

    I love the cover!!!! Congratulations!

  16. Janet Mullany says:

Great cover, Colleen, and congrats again on the second sale! And naturally, as an opera freak, I want to know what house they used.
    Janet

  17. Michele says:

I love the cover and can’t wait for the book.

And I love the Count of Monte Cristo though I’ve never read the book, just seen the last adaptation with Jim Caviezel and Guy Pearce. I love the story though.

  18. Megan Frampton says:

That cover is amazing. And I didn’t know about this one, how clueless am I?

I’m going to add it to the Amazon wishlist.

  19. Marg says:

You are getting such great covers!! Congrats!

  20. Jana DeLeon says:

Sorry, I’m chiming in late to say I ABSOLUTELY love it!

  21. Wendy says:

The cover gods are smiling on you! It’s a stunning cover!
