  1. December Quinn says:

    Wheee! What fun!

    1. I used to think maybe you loved me now I know that it’s true

Walking on Sunshine, Katrine and the Waves

    2. Animals strike curious poses

    When Doves Cry by Prince

    3. Religion is a light in the fog The name of the song has just flown out of my head, but it’s Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians and I could sing the whole darn thing!

I don’t know where I’m going but I sure know where I’ve been Don’t know. I thought it was “Blaze of Glory” by Jon Bon Jovi but that’s “I don’t know where I’m goin, only God knows where I’ve been” so I’m lost on this one.

If you want to find all the cops they’re hanging out in the donut shops Walk Like An Egyptian by the Bangles

And there’s a heart that’s breaking down this long distance line tonight I Ain’t Missing You At All by John Waite

I’m always working, slaving every day
Feel like I could run away, run away from this empty heart
    Don’t know either of those

Kick off your Sunday shoes Footloose by Kenny Loggins

Daddy says she’s too young, but she’s old enough for me Seventeen by Winger

He turned to me as if to say, “Hurry boy it’s waiting there for you.” Africa by Toto

You’re not naive, you must be strong This tings a bell but I can’t place it

Darken the city night is a wire, steam in the subway the earth is afire Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran Duran

She had the body of a Venus, Lord imagine my surprise Dude Looks Like a Lady by Aerosmith

And I would just like to say, I did all that without the help of Google, which means I am waaay too obsessed with 80s music.

  2. Colleen Gleason says:

Wow! Ya’ll are going to have this quiz put away by 9 am, the rate you’re going!

    So far so good…

  3. Gypsy says:

“And there’s a heart that’s breaking down this long distance line tonight”

Oh, how I loved this one.

  4. Jaye Wells says:

Ya’ll got these before I could. But I have a special place in my heart for Duran Duran. Hungry Like the Wolf is one of mine and my husband’s songs. Don’t ask.

  5. Colleen Gleason says:

Me, too, Gypsy. Love that song.

Jaye, but I wanna know! Although, the way my mind works…maybe I can figure it out myself. ;-)

    Okay, so we’re missing #3, #7, #8, and #12.

I’m figuring my friend Julie (J.) will pop in any time now and figure them out…

  6. Angela says:

How fun! I love 80s rock. I don’t have the best memory with group names, so I’m not even going to try! But I do recognize most of the songs.

  7. Anonymous says:

    3)What I am (New Bohemians)

Not that I’m old enough to remember (cough, snort)

  8. Jana DeLeon says:

How do you remember all this enough to post on it???? I remember all those songs but there’s no way I could give you the who and what. :)

  9. Heather Harper says:

I have Duran Duran on my iPod and I’m not ashamed.

    Signed,
Mrs. John Taylor (I think I wrote this on my gym shoes in jr. high. I am such a geek.)

    And Miss. Colleen,

I reached the half-way point last night. I wish I could hire a nanny so I could finish it right now. I love it!

  10. Colleen Gleason says:

Jana, I don’t remember these all by myself. It’s called GOOGLE. :-) I don’t know half of them without a hint!

Liane, great going on New Bohemians!

    Angela, thanks for coming by.

Heather, I’m listening to D2’s greatest hits right now as I’m working and they’re helping me to move along. (Of course, there’s a great divide between Rio and 19th century Europe, but it works for me!

And glad you’re enjoying the read! :-)

  11. Devonna says:

    1. Walking on Sunshine ~ Katrina and the Waves
    2. When Doves Cry ~ Prince
    3. What I Am ~ Edie Brickel and the New Bohemians
    4. Here I Go Again ~ Whitesnake
    5. Walk Like an Egyptian ~ Bangels
    6. I Ain’t Missing You ~ John Waite
    7. Nothing but a Good Time ~ Poison
    8. Shattered Dreams ~ Johnny Hates Jazz
    9. Footloose ~ Kenny Loggins
    10. Seventeen ~ Winger
    11. Africa ~ Toto
    12. No Clue
    13. No Clue
    14. Dude Looks Like a Lady ~ Aerosmith

I couldn’t think of what 12 and 13. 10 was a big of a cheat because it’s playing on the 80’s station right now ~ otherwise, I probably wouldn’t have been able to guess.

  12. Colleen Gleason says:

Great job, Devonna! Number 13 is Hungry Like the Wolf, which I think Heather and Jaye got earlier.

Looks like #12 is the stumper today. I must admit, I don’t remember these particular words to this song, but I do remember the band. And the song itself. I think this was a one-hit wonder by a band with a really odd-sounding name…sounds like something a baby would say. *hint*

  13. Anonymous says:

Ok not sure about spelling and don’t fell like googling but I’m gonna go with Shy Shy by Kajagoogoo (or something like that?

    Hush hush eye to eye

    I’m SURE that’s it!

    HEEEE!

  14. Devonna says:

Aw ~ Zeek beat me too it! Too Shy by Kajagoogoo.

  15. Colleen Gleason says:

    *ding ding ding*

We have a winner! Great job, Zeek and Devonna!

And everyone else who played. Hmmm…maybe next week I’ll actually give away a PRIZE for the winner.

  16. "J" says:

Hi Colleen, Great quotes sorry I did not get to it sooner, looks like you already have all the answers. I am really better at movies! Good picture, I always loved Roger! I still remember lying to my parents to go to a D2 concert at COBO! “J”

  17. Katkat says:

Very cool. I knew only 2. But that was fun.

  18. Holly says:

Wow, this is a great idea. Too bad I didn’t know about it sooner. LOL

  19. Zeus says:

I’m pretty sure everyone has it covered by now, but I just wanted to say that I absolutely adored the photo of Duran Duran!

    - Marina

  20. Carl V. says:

I enjoyed reading these and hearing the tunes playing in my head. 80’s music is so great!

  21. Annie says:

I didn’t even bother to try this week. Was stumped on all of them.

But have to note that I saw the commercial for the 80’s Trivial Pursuit which looks really cool. And Downtown Julie Brown was in the commercial and it took me WAY back :D

  22. Colleen Gleason says:

Holly, we play Retro Tuesday every week here, so stop back when you can!

And Annie! An ’80s Trivial Pursuit? I am so there! Downtown Julie Brown…oh, I still laugh when I think of her.

  23. Devonna says:

Annie ~ I saw that commercial last night too! It was fun seeing Julie Brown and then Kelly LeBroc back in her Wierd Science role.

  24. Annie says:

The website for the 80s Trivial Pursuit is http://www.hasbro.com/trivialpursuit80s/

    Looks fun!

  25. Colleen Gleason says:

Oooh, thanks Annie. Dashing over there to check it out. I love to procrastinate!
