Not for Women Only

My blog-friend Carl V. of Stainless Steel Droppings just posted his review of The Rest Falls Away. I have to admit, I was more than a bit nervous about what he might think.

Actually, I get nervous about what anyone might think–especially people I know. I mean, I want them to like the book and they, I’m sure, want to like the book too…but if they don’t, that shouldn’t make for an awkward moment between friends.

Which is why I’ll never ask anyone directly if they’ve liked the book.

I don’t want to put them on the spot (and I’d rather not know if they didn’t). So if you read the book and liked it, you’ll have to offer that information to me, because I won’t ask and I won’t assume. (I might be dying of curiosity, but I won’t ask. Call me chicken, but, hey! At least I’m honest.)

Anyway, so Carl says, “It’s been about 15 years since I’ve read a book that could be shelved in the romance section…” and I thought….eeeep!
Anyway, if you aren’t a reader of the romance genre, you might find Carl’s review interesting and helpful in determining if it’s a book you’d enjoy.

I had to do math to post this comment…dear lord, my head hurts now! ;)
This book is definitely not for women only. In fact I am going to go back in and edit my review and mention that somewhere.

Sometime soon I will send you an email giving more detailed thoughts that I wouldn’t want to post anywhere because it would spoil the book.

I don’t know if I conveyed very well in my review how much I enjoyed the book but I really did. Great job!

I’m the same way, wondering whether people liked my book but afraid to ask…

But don’t worry, I’m sure there will be plenty of people eager to tell you how much they loved your book and how much they look forward to the next one!

Sheesh. Everyone is moving these days. I’m going to hold off updating my blogroll for a week at least until everyone gets movingitis out of their systems. ;)
PS. Math is cruel and unusual punishment. lol

I finally posted my review. My net died earlier while I was writing it, so I had to wait for it to start functioning correctly again. And, I don’t like the math because I made a typo and got it wrong and lost my post.

I’m going to hold off on reading everyone else’s review because I just managed to find a copy of my own, today. It looks absolutely fantastic. I’ll let you know when I get around to reading and reviewing.
