Eeek! What have they done to Nancy?

Went to see The Bridge to Terabithia last night with my two oldest munchkins (had no idea it was a tear-jerker!), and had this trailer foisted upon me:

Nancy Drew in California??? So does not work for me.

I want my real Nancy Drew back!

Hey, your better then me, I cant take Nancy Drew anywhere

  2. Carl V. says:

As you can see in my review, I LOVED Terabithia. I knew it would be a tear jerker and still couldn’t help sobbing through the film.

Not having read Nancy Drew I actually thought that looked like a very fun film and one I will likely see with my daughter. I understand the ‘don’t mess with my nostalgia’ factor though as I have had the same reaction to many other remakes.

  3. Colleen says:

Carl, somehow I missed your review of Terabithia. I’ll check it out.

Sparky…I grew up with Nancy. Gotta love her. How about them Hardy Boys, then? The Three Investigators, maybe? Or The Mad Scientists Club? Were they more up your alley?

  4. Sparky Duck says:

Yikes, you say Hardy Boys and I picture Jameson Parker. Who are these 3 Investigators you speak of?

  5. Colleen says:

Actually, I picture Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy, but then, who’s complaining?

The Three Investigators? You poor deprived soul for not experiencing them as a juvenile. Here’s a quick link for more info, or you can check wikipedia.

  6. Nancy says:

ACK! Who is that supposed to be? That is SO not Nancy Drew. I could not even finish watching the trailer.

  7. Scooper says:

I’m not impressed. I loved Nancy and the movie looks and sounds nothing like her. I hate it when they try to make things hip. It usually backfires and for me if the movie is like the trailer, there is little hope.

  8. Colleen says:

I know…I was sitting there during the preview going “NO NO NOOOOOOO!!” They’re turning her into a Valley Girl!
