Meanwhile, on another blog…

Colette takes on the eroticism of scenes "between the reels"–ie, most understated erotic scenes in movies evah. Pop on over to the Spiced Tea Party and weigh in with your opinion.

(Sorry, comments there don't count for the Marathon Rest Falls Away Book Giveaway!)

And in other news, it sounds like George Lucas wasn't so far off with those twin suns in Star Wars. Who'd'a thunk it?

Is anyone going to see Blades of Glory this weekend? I must confess, I've been looking forward to seeing it. Unfortunately, so has my 10 year old daughter, who, I think is going to be severely disappointed when I tell her she can't. All evidence points to the fact that the flick is closer to an R rating than a straight PG, so in my book, that's not appropriate for a pre-teen.

That makes me a bad mom, but what can I do? I told her I'd try and go see it today (the joys of being self-employed!)(But, Mr. Tax Man–it's research! I have to know what's "hot" in the entertainment industry!), so if I do, I'll report back later.

Goooooood Knight!

Oh yeah. It's now Sir Bono! (Or is it Sir Paul Hewson?)

Either way…is he not the most scrumptious knight since Sean Connery? (Is Sting a knight too? If so, I take that back.)

Anyway. I've always had a thing for knights and musicians…so I'm in raptures. (I wonder what the chances are of getting my Music Man knighted…)

Did I ever mention that my first historical novels (as-yet unpublished) featured knights and ladies and lords?

Maybe someday I'll be able to write about my own Sir Bono.

Big disappointment.

I expected something much better than this for the last Potter cover. Really. Ugh.

I mean, I realize they could pretty much do anything for the cover and it would sell like mad, but this? I personally preferred the mockup black and white cover they have had everywhere since the book's release was announced.

What about you? Thumbs up or thumbs down?

Wheeee!

For your viewing pleasure…

Who started this?

I want to know the culprit–that is, the restaurant chain–that started this new trend of having the server sit down at the table with you while they're taking your order.

I'm sorry, but it makes me feel a bit uncomfortable when the guy or gal just kind of takes a seat, usually with a big cheerful, I'm-your-friend-smile, and takes your order. And I've been noticing it more often than not. Chili's, Red Robin…other places.

So, what's up with that?

And while we're on the subject, is there anyone who really likes those big birthday song/announcements they do at the restaurants? Or is it just embarrassing and annoying for everyone involved? Heck, just give us the free sundae and spare everyone the singing and clapping, okay?

(Ahem. Rant over.)
