Her Majesty Rocks the Hats

I love hats. I should be British royalty, I love them so much.

I wish more women wore them regularly. I used to buy hats rather frequently at this little shop on South Street in Philly called Hats in the Belfry (anyone know it? Is it still there?). I might have to check it out when I visit in June and buy something fun!

And Queen Elizabeth II totally rocked her head gear at the Derby and during her whole visit here.

Love, love, love the hat she wore to the Derby. I would wear that in a heartbeat. Love. It.

This other one is cool, too. But the Derby hat's the best.

I so love hats. My husband laughs at my obsession with them. I can’t pass a store without trying on hats. And there’s nowhere to wear any. How sad.

I need to go to the Derby some year, just so I can wear a rockin hat. ;-)

I saw on the news that she brought so many hats they had to be carried in a separate vehicle! I love hats, too, though they don’t love me back so much. :)

Seriously, Ren? I’m so excited. I’ll definitely check it out when I’m there in June.

We used to eat Philly cheesesteaks at Steve’s, I think it was…I don’t remember Nookies. Will have to check it out!

Jaci, I would love to see a pic of you in a hat! Put it on your blog, baby!

Tori, I can’t imagine that many hats. And all designed especially for her. Love it!

I love watching the Derby preshow…just for the hats!

  6. LorriM says:

I am such a hat fiend, always have been. I just adore hats!

I loved this one, yes, indeed, it was the best, by far.

I’ve got a weird shaped head so hats always look silly on me. Still, I envy people who can wear them and Her Majesty does a great job.

  8. Stacy ~ says:

LOL. Wendy I swear I’m the same way. From ballcaps to fedoras to whatever, I look ridiculous. Not everyone can pull it off either - it does take a certain style.

  9. Ryan Seth says:

The Kentucky Derby is one of our favorite holidays (we do consider it to be a holiday at HITB). We are still at the same location on South Street we’d love to see you when you come in June.

    Thanks,
    Ryan Seth

I thought I would not see the above reply on time, but I am glad to see it–I recently discovered the website for Hats in the Belfry, and it is the only place I would even entertain purchasing a hat. Now that I know where the store is, I may have to make a special trip to Philly just to check it out.

As an aside, I may have to write to HITB–my favorite hat that I was finally going to buy is no longer available–so bummed!!
