The Eight Things About Me Meme

I got double-tagged by two of my Noodler friends, Trish and Mary, to answer this meme in which I list eight things about myself that you probably don't know.

Since ya'll don't know *that* much about me, it should be easy. Right? Hmmm.

Okay. Here goes:

1. My family tree contains a bonafide saint–Brother Andre, a French Canadian.

2. I have six piercings, and you can't see all of them when I'm fully clothed.

3. I've been to Tahiti, but not to Hawaii or Mexico.

4. I looooove hummus, but I hate garbanzo beans. Go figure that one.

5. I've never read Anne Rice. And that's actually a shame, because when my Music Man and I were courting many years ago, he bought me Interview with a Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, and The Queen of the Damned and he wrote the most beautiful, loving, funny love notes inside the front covers of each of them. I still have those books–will never get rid of them–but I haven't read them.

6. I absolutely adore James Garner, and particularly love him in Maverick, Victor/Victoria, and Sunset

7. I am a closet Barry Manilow fan. (Eeek! I can't believe I admitted that!)

8. But I'm also a big Liz Phair fanatic. (How's that for redemption?)

Okay, that was lame, but I followed through on my tags. So, I'm technically supposed to tag eight more people….but I'll leave it up to any of you who want to participate. Let me know in the comments.

You know I have tried so many times to pick up one of Anne Rice’s novels and get lost in it, but everytime I do I get distracted or I’m just not interested. Yet every library book sale I go to, I’m always buying one here or there because I sooo want to like her stuff! I am determined to find one I love, but for now they just sit on my shelves waiting patiently for me :)

  2. Tori Lennox says:

Your list is vastly more interesting than mine was. *g*

I’ve read one Anne Rice. I didn’t care for it at all. Just couldn’t get into it.

  3. Janet says:

    #4 - me, too!

So how come you haven’t read the books?

  4. Susan Helene Gottfried says:

I got double-tagged for this one, too. I’ll be posting over the weekend, so keep your eyes peeled.

And congrats on the goodies in the next post. No good news over here; I had an ovarian cyst rupture overnight and I do NOT feel well from it.

  5. Missy says:

Don’t feel bad. The closest I’ve come to reading Anne Rice is watching the movies for Interview with a Vampire and Queen of the Damned. It’s sad because I love the vampire genre, but have never really gotten into her books!

BTW, YOUR vamp books rock ^_^

  6. Suzanne says:

I’m a James Garner fan too, and have been ever since Maverick - the series, not the movie!

  7. Nancy, aka Bookfool says:

I love James Garner, hid an Anne Rice book from my son because my husband found her writing offensive, and got over Barry Manilow but still sing along when I hear his songs in the store. Pitiful. Neato on the saint!!!
