Well, this is the weekend I've my kids have been waiting for: the first of Hollywood's summer offerings. (I guess I should count Spidey Three, but…well…for me it's not.)
Yep, we're off to see Shrek the Third today, right when the kids get off the bus. It's sort of a tradition in our house for big movies like that–we make it sort of an event. Plus it's cheaper to go to a matinee.
So Shrek the Third today, POTC At World's End next week (can't wait to see what happens with Jack and Liz, though I know she's going to wimp out and end up with Three Whiskers), and then we've got Harry Potter coming (on film and on paper), Matt Damon in Bourne….whew. Hope it's a good summer.
What about you? What are you mostly waiting for this summer, blockbuster-wise?

Blockbusters this summer……Not really looking forward to too many. I hate the Pirates franchise.
I did a T13 on my list a few weeks ago. Blockbusters that were on the list for me were DIE HARD, 28 Weeks Later, Harry Potter, Stardust, Evan Almighty.
The one movie that I will be waiting all summer for is ACROSS THE UNIVERSE. If you haven’t seen the trailer, YouTube it. Because it’s going to be the most awesome movie of 2007.

TRANSFORMERS - more than meets the eye! lol. I’ve had a thing for transformers since I was a kid. I loved watching them on the tv on Sat mornings. And Shyla Leboff (how ever you spell it) is the lead, and I have a totally inappropriate crush on him for a woman my age.
Die Hard is another definite, along with Pirates 3.

Ratatouille — Pixar’s latest. Oh, and all the other ones, too. Especially HP and POTC… Orlando Bloom, sigh.

Pretty much the same movies as you are! I’m taking my daughter tomorrow to Shrek the Third and I can hardly wait for Pirates or Harry Potter. Ratatouille looks really cute and Knocked Up (with that girl from Grey’s Anatomy) looks pretty funny!

My family used to have the same movie tradition. Now it’s Sunday morning breakfast, then the movie. No crowd! I’m not terribly excited about Shrek, but I’m DYING for Pirates, Bourne, Harry Potter and Die Hard.
We saw the trailers for Across the Universe, and it is intriguing.
