Always last to the party.

That's me. It was the same way with Alias and Buffy and LOST…and now it's Veronica Mars.

I should have been listening to Diana, who's always talking and blogging about the show, but no. It took me until about three weeks ago before I discovered this smart, funny, witty, addicting TV show….just in time for it to be canceled after three seasons. Argh.

Grant you, I'm only a third of the way through the DVDs of the second season (thank God I had Season Two sitting here when I watched the last episode of Season One. I don't know how you regular fans made it through the summer after that Evanovich-like cliffhanger.)

I think Duncan is a complete doofus (his eyes always look so blank and dopey when they pan in on him), and I'm completely in love with Logan. But who isn't? What a great character–such great lines, and wonderful chemistry. Yum.

Are they ever going to get (back) together??

I really like Weevil too. A lot. I can't see him and V getting together, but who knows. Maybe they'll have a one-nighter some time.

Wallace is a great character–reminds me of my friend Paul when I was growing up: a wonderful friend, no hidden agenda, no awkward tension. Just BFFs. (Except we're not anymore, but I'm not sure why. Long story that still leaves me confused.)

I've loved Enrico Colantoni since Just Shoot Me, and he's brilliant in this series. Just love him and Veronica, and their relationship. It was how Nancy Drew could have been…but so much better.

Ah. Anyway. Any other VM fans out there? Remembering I'm only halfway through Season Two, and, yes, there are flaws (I'm getting a little tired of the baseball player dude and his issues), let me know what you think.

I know the first season was by far the best, but still, when you fall in love with characters, it's really hard to let them go…isn't it?

Now excuse me while I get back to my stack of DVDs…

I loved season 1. Season 2 was still good, but not as great. Haven’t seen any of 3 yet. And yes, Logan is adorable and yum and just plain great.

  2. Stacy ~ says:

I’ve never checked it out. Good thing there’s full-season DVD releases.

  3. Bonnie Ferguson says:

I’ve never actually seen this show. :)

I’m sorry I’m rying to stop myself from crying.
I LOVED that show. And am so mad that it won’t be back.

  5. ren says:

such a good show! i am sad it’s over but i’d rather it go out on top than have it change too much (they were talking about re-setting it with veronica at the FBI academy). i will look forward to new stuff from all the cast and from rob thomas.

  6. Nancy says:

I have been resisting and resisting this show and now its done. I am going to Netflix the whole thing and that can be my summer tv.

And, I am always late for TV shows.

  7. mary beth says:

I’m sad it’s going too. I’ve LOVED it. This season might not be as great as the past two, but I’ve still enjoyed it.

  8. Mary says:

I bought the first season but haven’t watched it yet. I’d Tivoed the season finale, then deleted it because I don’t want to spoil myself.

  9. Diana says:

YAY! Another convert! Best show EVAH!!!!

Seriously though, I honestly believe that the first season of Veronica Mars is the best season of television that I’ve ever seen.

  10. Carl V. says:

This is a series that I want to get to at some point. I too am usually late to the party. But that is okay, tv is usually a very low priority after reading, watching stuff on DVD, playing on the PC, etc. Plus it is fun to watch tv on dvd as you don’t have to wait to watch the next episode!!
