…but you should stay until the end.
You have time to go to the bathroom, if you've been holding it for the 2.75 hour movie (or, if like me, you sneaked out during the battle scenes), and get back to the theater before the credits are over to see the twenty-second snippet at the end.
It doesn't give closure, per se (the whole freaking movie leaves you with wayyyy too much hanging), but it is a nice little moment.
(Or, you can read my spoiler here to know what happens if you don't want to wait/didn't wait. Highlight to read: The scene at the end is Elizabeth waiting on the island for Will to return, ten years later, and she's got a young ten-year-old boy with her. Will returns, and he's smiling.)
So, I really liked the movie. I didn't love it, but I wasn't disappointed except for the fact that there's going to be (there has to be!) another one to tie up yet more loose ends.
I will say that I no longer feel guilty about the ending of The Bleeding Dusk (Gardella Three) because it is a bit of a cliffhanger, sort of–though not like The Empire Strikes Back, Dead Man's Chest, Veronica Mars Season One Finale, and the infamous Janet Evanovich book-end-cliffhanger. It's not that bad. So if I was feeling a tad guilty about it before, I no longer do. It's the way of the world, now, apparently.
Anyway, my favorite scene was the "wedding" scene–I thought it was handled very cleverly and broke up another scene that could have been tedious due to its length–and I also loved the "pirate roundtable" scene. That was great.
I liked the way the Jack/Liz thing was resolved, and how it was handled with Will, and the final resolution between Jack/Liz. Good.
I loved Tia Dalma, and I'm certain we've not seen the end of her…no way.
Keith Richards was fabulous.
The Jack Sparrow Angel v. Devil-on-the-shoulder bit was good too.
All in all, I enjoyed the movie. It's not as good as the first one, I'm sorry–but it's a great movie. So go, enjoy, and watch for the ending. Or read my spoiler above.
What did you think?

The second installment of the Gardella Vampire Chronicles takes Victoria to Venice and Rome.

My very favorite part was when he was hallucinating…and there were so many of him! ROFLMAO!

I absolutely LOVED it! I’ve been all but ranting about it and I can’t wait to see it again. Must convince someone to see it again with me!!!!
Sad but they said it was a trilogy and that’s supposed o be the end of that.

Well, darn! I didn’t stay to the end of the credits, and I usually do. Thanks for the spoiler - it cleared up a question we were talking about in the car on the way home.
I liked the movie too. I read an article where Depp said he wouldn’t mind playing Jack again - that he wasn’t done with the character yet. Can’t imagine Disney wouldn’t take that statement and run with it, as Pirates has been such a juggernaut of a money maker

Was it better than the second one? Because that one was quite lame. Most of the humor was in reference to jokes in the first movie, for one thing. I loved the first, but was very disappointed in the second. I also thought it was lame to bring back Rush’s character. On the other hand, he’s so good, I figure it can only help this third installment.

I liked the movie, but not as much as the first. And while I’m glad there was closure between Jack and Liz, the bittersweet ending for Will and Liz left me wanting more. Hopeless romantic that I am, I wanted more for them. Though the snippet after the credits was a nice touch. Thank goodness my oldest’s boyfriend was with us and he’d heard about staying through the credits.
Favorite scenes? The wedding and their wedding kiss– great way to handle the wedding, in keeping with their personalities and all that they’ve been through. Also, the many voices/mini Jacks that sprouted up from time to time. Cute idea. I was impressed with Johnny Depps acting ability—each of the characters had their own expression, their own reaction to whatever was happening or had been said. Very good!!
I’d watch it again. And will buy the dvd, especially if we decide to have a Pirate marathon.
Now we can’t wait for the next Harry Potter movie and book to come out.

Spoilers!
I liked it every bit as much as I liked the second one and the first one. I’m not one of those who was disappointed by film two. I thought that one was, as this one is, a highly entertaining summer film.
I liked the bittersweet ending between Will and Elizabeth. I applaud their courage for not taking the typical Hollywood out and tying everything up perfectly. It is still a romantic ending, with a bit of tragedy thrown in for good measure.
Though it had a few slow moments, overall it was funny, entertaining, and had me rivited to the screen. I felt the almost 3 hours fly by.
Great fun!

Shoot him. Cut out his tongue.
Then shoot his tongue!
Loved it. And that kiss during the wedding scene? Hot stuff.

My quibble was that the wedding seemed sudden, like they hadn’t resolved other issues first.
But it was the most fun wedding ever!

I felt much the same way as you- didn’t luuuuurve it but wasn’t really disappointed either. I LOVED the wedding scene too- and that dang monkey little jack. I also loved seeing my Chow Yun Fat but wished they would prettied him up more.
Thanks so much for the spoiler- although in my head that’s how it ended anyway. Still it remains a bittersweet ending …

I remember when Diana shooed me toward this blog to read/join a discussion about the second movie, and now the third one’s been released. I saw it Monday night and loved it. Was so much better than the second and I liked it almost as much as the first. “Let me be the machete to your intellectual thicket!” Brilliant stuff!
And off topic, I’m so excited Rises the Night is soon to be released. I’ve been anxiously waiting to read it!
