Cool. I want one.

Microsoft unveiled a new computer prototype today, and I love it! It looks like a coffee table, and instead of using a mouse or keyboard, you move your hands over the screen to "grab" instead of click and drag.

And apparently, you use a pen-type of instrument to write, instead of on a keyboard. Now that might have serious consequences for my creativity (I seem to only be able to write from brain to keyboard), but I'm wiling to try.

This looks very cool, but I don’t think I could give up my laptop for writing. I need my keyboard too!

  2. Tori Lennox says:

If they had a Mac version I might be tempted. Well, if I could afford it, that is. :)

  3. Gypsy says:

That’s pretty neat, although I’m not sure it would be comfortable to look down all the time while working. One plus would be perhaps my handwriting would improve. Keyboards have killed my penmanship.

  4. Colleen says:

I agree–keyboards have killed my writing too. And I used to have pretty writing!

I’ve heard they’ve talked about not teaching penmanship in schools anymore, because so much work is being done on the computer keyboard nowadays.

  5. Nonny Morgan says:

That looks very cool, but I wonder how RSI-friendly it is. If you’re constantly moving your arms, hands, and fingers to click and drag, I would think it would be worse in regards to repetitive stress than a normal mouse and keyboard would. (And then there’s people like me who can’t use a pen for very long without getting hand cramps. >_

  6. Mailyn says:

Same here on the MAC issue.

PS. The POTC3 ending was it as Will and Elizabeth’s story was finished. When he comes back 10 years later the debt to the Dutchman is paid because Elizabeth held up her part of the bargain and waited for her lover for 10 years. Thus Will is once again human and doesn’t have to go on the Flying Dutchman anymore.

It has been speculated that IF they ever make another POTC movie it will be solely on Johnny Depp’s character as he is the only one that has a story left to tell.

    So there ya go. ^__^

With my handwriting, the stylus thing will never work. Nice try, Microsoft!

  8. Tempest Knight says:

Oh i don’t know… It looks interesting in concept. But I’m usually skeptic about anything coming from Microsoft.

  9. Sparky Duck says:

This did look cool, though it also looked like a big toy. If I am getting a big toy, its gonna be a plasma TV
