And…

the winner is

Nichole!

You've won a copy of Rises the Night! Congratulations. I'll be in touch by email shortly, or you can email me at author at colleengleason dot com.

Have a great weekend.

The Dating Game: Who Wants to Marry a Venator?

To my delight, last week Bam invited me to guest blog on her site on June 13. (Bam loved Rises the Night. She actually sort of gushed, and it's not just because I put her name in the acknowledgements, trust me. She was worried the book would suck and she'd have to say so.)

So I was wracking my brain to try and figure out what to blog about (because she absolutely refused to interview me. "Dude, that's why I told you to write what you want–because I'm terrible at interviews!" were her exact words.)

And so I came up with the idea of having The Dating Game: Who Wants to Marry a Venator? Edition. So, December Quinn (erotic author extraordinaire) is going to be interviewing Bachelors No. 1, 2, and 3 to find out who would be Victoria's dating choice.

What I need from you–the Peanut Gallery–are some ideas for questions for the three Bachelors. (Remember, they all live in 1820s England…but you can fudge a few of them if you want.)

In case you're wondering, the Bachelors are:

No.1: Philip de Lacey, Marquess of Rockley

No. 2: Maximilian Pesaro, Venator

No. 3: Sebastian Vioget, proprietor of The Silver Chalice

So if you have any ideas of questions you'd like to ask these men….fire away in the comments section. I'll pick a winner (randomly, not by the question) on Friday to win a copy of Rises the Night, two weeks before it's released!

Always last to the party.

That's me. It was the same way with Alias and Buffy and LOST…and now it's Veronica Mars.

I should have been listening to Diana, who's always talking and blogging about the show, but no. It took me until about three weeks ago before I discovered this smart, funny, witty, addicting TV show….just in time for it to be canceled after three seasons. Argh.

Grant you, I'm only a third of the way through the DVDs of the second season (thank God I had Season Two sitting here when I watched the last episode of Season One. I don't know how you regular fans made it through the summer after that Evanovich-like cliffhanger.)

I think Duncan is a complete doofus (his eyes always look so blank and dopey when they pan in on him), and I'm completely in love with Logan. But who isn't? What a great character–such great lines, and wonderful chemistry. Yum.

Are they ever going to get (back) together??

I really like Weevil too. A lot. I can't see him and V getting together, but who knows. Maybe they'll have a one-nighter some time.

Wallace is a great character–reminds me of my friend Paul when I was growing up: a wonderful friend, no hidden agenda, no awkward tension. Just BFFs. (Except we're not anymore, but I'm not sure why. Long story that still leaves me confused.)

I've loved Enrico Colantoni since Just Shoot Me, and he's brilliant in this series. Just love him and Veronica, and their relationship. It was how Nancy Drew could have been…but so much better.

Ah. Anyway. Any other VM fans out there? Remembering I'm only halfway through Season Two, and, yes, there are flaws (I'm getting a little tired of the baseball player dude and his issues), let me know what you think.

I know the first season was by far the best, but still, when you fall in love with characters, it's really hard to let them go…isn't it?

Now excuse me while I get back to my stack of DVDs…

Summer Movie Kickoff

Well, this is the weekend I've my kids have been waiting for: the first of Hollywood's summer offerings. (I guess I should count Spidey Three, but…well…for me it's not.)

Yep, we're off to see Shrek the Third today, right when the kids get off the bus. It's sort of a tradition in our house for big movies like that–we make it sort of an event. Plus it's cheaper to go to a matinee.

So Shrek the Third today, POTC At World's End next week (can't wait to see what happens with Jack and Liz, though I know she's going to wimp out and end up with Three Whiskers), and then we've got Harry Potter coming (on film and on paper), Matt Damon in Bourne….whew. Hope it's a good summer.

What about you? What are you mostly waiting for this summer, blockbuster-wise?

Name That Hunk, aka, Lazy Thursday Post

Yep, bein' lazy today. Blaming it on the weather–still cloudy and cold, but at least (so far) it's dry here.

So, for fun, name this hunk. (Is it too easy?)
