To school that is. Yay. Oh, yay. Ohhhh yay.
Come on all you moms and dads, rejoice with me!
The summer was fun, really fun–but they're just as ready to go back as I was for them to go.
So, this year is a milestone for me too, as all three of them will be in the same school (a new one) and all day long. W00T.
And thus, it's a new era and a new year, and what does one do in a new year? Why, one makes New Years resolutions, of course!
Here we go:
1. I'm going to work out at least three days a week–immediately after they get on the bus. (Which means my blog entries might be coming up later in the day unless I write them the night before. Which happens. Sometimes.)
2. I'm going to keep up on the laundry. (Ha!) No, really, I am!
3. I'm going to make their lunches more often instead of relying on hot lunch.
4. I'm going to eat more healthy myself.
5. And, oh yeah, I'm going to write at home more often than I have been.
So, what are your plans for the "new" year? Is it a new year kind of feeling for you? Or do you wait for January to get really serious?

This is a ‘New Year’ for me of a different sort. It is the first year that I am not going to school this September since I was 5. So, yeah, really weird!

I am going to lose weight!!! Exercise, eat well, blah, blah, blah all the good things I need to do.

Well, I only have one in school full-time, one starting Kindergarten (half-days, although this week is a convoluted ease them in system that boggles the mind) and the youngest isn’t even in preschool for another year and a half. Sigh. However, once the schedule settles in I am hoping the baby naps during #2’s Kindergarten time, so that I can write or work then. That may give me two hours. woohoo!

I just love the fact that you dont feel that pang of missing them, but rather are ready to take advantage of the time.

I’m thrilled for you! With your new resolutions it sounds like you need to join in on the R.I.P.ing 5 Challenge as the things you are doing are certainly in the spirit of the challenge:

Good luck with all your “new year” resolutions! I plan on exercising more than I have been and be a bit more focused in my writing. Only work on one project at a time…

October 1 is my new year. It’s my birthday so that’s when I get my resolutions going.
#1. Finish the book and send it off.
#2. Walk to work for exercise and save gas.
#3. Eat better!
I’m sure I’ll think of more, but for now…that’ll do pig…that’ll do.

Well, I have two in college and one in high school — and they all went back to school in mid-August. Our school seems to start earlier and earlier — wish they’d wait until after Labor Day when it’s not so hot. Anyway, my resolutions are always the same — get on a better schedule of exercising, write more and work harder on trying to get published — and to throw out some of the junk we seem to accumulate constantly.

Geesh, Sparky, you’re making me feel guilty. NOT!
My darlings were just as ready to go back as I was to have them go back. Truly.
Lynn, I’m with you on the exercise, though I must confess that so far, nothing’s happened here on that side. But this is still a transitional week for us, so next week…ahhh. A real schedule!
