No one would ever believe this in a book.

A Venezuelan man pronounced dead at the scene of an auto accident woke up during his autopsy, "because the pain was unbearable."

Uh, yeah. I'd think so.

His wife, who came down to the morgue to indentify him got a most joyful (at least, I hope it was joyful) surprise when she found him alive instead.

Now, seriously, if I'd tried to put something like that in a book, my editor would put her foot down. I'm sure of it.

And the readers would throw the book across the room.  Or roll their eyes.

But, it's okay that I write about strangely-powerful women who hunt vampires.

Go figure.

So, what's the oddest thing you ever heard about that happened for real…that you'd never believe if you read it in a book?

Hmmm, well I used to fall asleep riding me bike ~ does that count? When I was little, we used to ride bikes from our mom’s house to our father’s. I’d get maybe a block or so and fall asleep. Mind you, I had to ride my bike across town. One time, I rode right into the back of a parked truck and skinned up my face pretty good. I remember this well, because it was the only time my father ever let me watch Donny and Marie.

I should clarify that it didn’t happen alot, but it did happen. Not sure how unbelievable it is though.

I swear I JUST heard this today and it was even in my local newspaper!

A woman was out in her garden with her dog, when she felt something bite her ankle. She looked down and it was a FOX! And…it CHASED them to their house and stood at the backdoor growling. She called 911, cops were sent over. They went to the front door, lady let them in and showed them to the back door where the fox was. The cop opened the door and sure enough, the fox tried to force its way into the house! Poor thing had rabies…still a strange story, tho!

Mine is a Fox story as well! Funny that! Anyway, a family who lived on the outskirts of Estes Park Colorado (home of Stephen King’s “The Shining”), had a doggie door and every night a Fox would come in and sleep next to their son! Never bit him and wouldn’t take food from them, but he would come by in the early morning hours and sleep there until the kid woke up and then it would run away! Odd.

You know, that happened on CSI once. A man was found alive while an autopsy was being done.

yes, truth is much stranger than fiction. especially the things that pop out of our children’s mouths.
