The Secret Service has a problem.

According to an article in today's papers, the British Secret Service has a problem with recruiting.

No, it's not that they can't get enough people…it's that the people they get want to be James Bond.

Well, duh. (Actually, I don't want to be James Bond…I want to do James Bond. I mean, if he's Daniel Craig.)

Sooo…since it's Monday and I'm crawling back into my writing cave for the rest of the week, barely  likely to poke my head out until When Twilight Burns is done (ie, Friday. Or maybe Saturday.), I'm gonna make it easy on you….

Who's your favorite James Bond actor?

What's your favorite Bond flick?

Have you read the books? If so, what do you think about them?

(I've read them, and just quickly want to say that the books have much more characterization for Bond than the movies do. There's more depth to him…and he's quite the reluctant hero.)

Go. Tawk amongst yerselves. Back later. Have a great week. (I'll poke my head in.)

  1. Jenny Armintrout says:

Roger Moore is my favorite Bond. Yeah, he’s a billion light years away from Book!Bond, but I like Movie!Bond better. Something about Book!Bond was a little too misogynistic and anti-heroish for me.

  2. lisabea says:

Once upon a time it was Sean Connery. The accent, the fun, the incredible sexiness. Then I saw Daniel Craig… When he’s in that swim suit? oh yeah. He’s the one.

  3. Dev says:

I admit, I’ve never seen a James Bond movie. Never will, either.

  4. Elle says:

Hands down, Daniel Craig! Have you ever seen such angst in a Bond hero? Especially one who can be so flippin’ sexy while he’s at it? No, my friends! Pierce Brosnan made the Bond franchise so campy and over the top that I lost faith. Daniel Craig brought back the testosterone and bad assitude, and gave 007 a heart (I’m getting chills just remembering LOL). Very close 2nd is Sean Connery ;)

  5. Tori Lennox says:

I haven’t seen Daniel Craig yet, I’m afraid. My favorite two old Bonds, though, are Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan.

  6. Deneishia says:

Tori, I was with you on that but once I saw the movie *swoon* he did SO well and looked good doing it, but he really breathed new life into that character. Book!Bond is better for me.

But I can’t think too much about Bond right now, too excited that When Twilight Burns is almost done! Go! Write! yay :)

  7. MLS859 (Lynn) says:

Dev, I’m with you. I’ve never seen a James Bond movie and I doubt seriously I ever will unless they happen to cast an actor I’m already swooning over (there was talk of Gerry Butler being Bond for awhile but, thankfully, that blew over). They are just not my thing, I’m afraid.

  8. Stephanie says:

Well….it used to be Sean Connery. He was sexy, still is, even if he is old enough to be my Dad! Or grandpa! I didn’t like any of the others until Daniel Craig came along. He was utterly fantastic! So much more “real” than any of the others. And sexy to boot!!

  9. Carl V. says:

I certainly love Craig the best and Casino Royale is my favorite Bond movie. It spurred me on to read the books, of which I’ve read and thoroughly enjoyed the first 5 and am in the process of reading Dr. No right now. They are amazing books (although I don’t recommend Live and Let Die).

By the way, did you get the email with the Tiny Stories attachment? My email has been acting up something fierce and I’ve sent you a few emails with no response so am just worrying. I know you’re busy, which is cool, but just wanted to make sure the email made it to you.

  10. Christine d'Abo says:

This might be a cop out, but I really do love them all. Each actor brings a different style to the screen, and spins the character in a new way.

But I’d jump Daniel Craig in a heart beat.

  11. pussreboots says:

There wouldn’t be a Bond without Sean but my favorite is Pierce Brosnan. I have read all the books.

  12. Michele says:

    1. Daniel Craig
    2. Casino Royale
    3. Yes, but I haven’t read all of the books.

And Bond has been my thing for so long and I was so jazzed when Daniel Craig was announced. I am so looking forward to the next movie.

  13. Jaye Wells says:

I’m digging Craig as Bond. Funny you should bring this up. Next weekend the hubs and I are going to a Bond-themed holiday party. He’s wearing a tux and I’m going as a Mod Bond girl. Should be fun.

  14. sparky Duck says:

Simple. Pierce Brosnan is and will always be Bond. Though Connery was great, Pierce gives off that Bond aura
