Creeeeepy.

The Andrew Morton book about Tom Cruise came out yesterday. While the author doesn't really address the gay rumors (according to reviews), it does apparently talk a lot about Scientology.

Check out this video, with Tom explaining how the Scientologists are "the authorities on getting people off drugs, we are the authorities on the mind, we are the authorities on improving conditions…"

I can't wait to read the book, even though it creeps me out. You?

(PS Had to post this classic photo…what on earth is he doing there? Do we really want to know? This was in Rolling Stone some years back.)

I’ve never been a Tom Cruise fan — and his diatribe about depression just did me in for good (having suffered with it myself). I don’t want to bash anyone’s religion because, as a Christian, I know what that feels like but, honestly, this is indeed very creepy. Scary, even.

  2. wendy roberts says:

I’m on the fence about whether or not I’ll read the book. Mostly I’m afraid his creepiness will invade my thoughts and I’ll be converted to Scientology against my will he he.

  3. Jenny Ryan says:

I can’t wait to read this either!

  4. MaryKate says:

This will be by the pool reading for me when it comes out in PB. I loves me some trashy celebrity gossip, and this certainly seems to qualify!

  5. Jenny Armintrout says:

Man, remember when he was just a cute guy and not a cult member?

  6. julia says:

I’m sure he’d be fine to work with, but scary to go out to dinner with. And you’d have to make sure you didn’t use any trigger words like ‘antidepressant’. Too much work. Even reading about him is too much work. I’ll leave him to act and I’ll watch some of his films, and that will have to be the extent of our relationship. Sorry, Tom.

  7. Sparky Duck says:

Tommy Boy was way creepy way before Scientology

  8. MaryKate says:

I watched last night four clips from that purloined propaganda video shot by the Church of Scientology.

He’s terrifying, ya’ll. He’s got that scary zealot fervor. And some crazy ass eyes.

    Scary.

  9. Christine d'Abo says:

I second Sparky’s comment. I was never a Tom fan before…even less now. He scares me…
