Speaking of which…Rock ON Madonna!

Twenty-five years in the biz. Twenty-five years, and she's still hot as hell. Gotta love it!

I must confess…back in the '80s when both Madonna and Cyndi Lauper had their first singles on the charts, I was having a conversation with my current Music Man (meaning, my Music Man at that time, not the one I'm married to) (did I ever mention that I have a thing for bass-players? No? Hmm.)

Anyway…conversation. In the '80s. With my Music-Man-at-the-Time. He (who, by the way, was just as much of a music snob as my current MM) was spouting the opinion that of the two trendy, chart-topping women–Madonna and Cyndi–that Cyndi would be the one to make it and not Madonna.

*snort*

(Okay, I admit. I agreed. But I was blinded by love.)

And…might I also mention that Queen Madge is a Michigan girl as well? Hmm? Did I mention that?

Rock on Michigan girls!

Here's a pic, and I'm posting it for three reasons:

1. Madonna, age 50, looks better than Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne. Holy crap, does she look good!

2. Justin Timberlake looks pretty hot too, for him.

3. Who on earth is that guy next to her? Seriously. I have no idea who he is and why he's messing up my pic, but….ugh. Can someone clue me in?

On that note….what's your favorite Madonna song?

Mine are: "Express Yourself" and "Open Your Heart."

I think the other guy is Iggy Pop - something like that anyway! :) Do you think Madonna’s done botox, etc??? That’s a good picture of Justin. Don’t think I could name a favorite Madonna song. I did like some of her earlier ones and the ones from a few years back were good for dancing to.

P.S. My 15 year old plays bass and the girls are crazy about him!!! :)

Colleen! That’s fellow Michigan native, Iggy Pop! The music snob in me scoffs at that question.

*goes to listen to the Stooges*

Rock on Madge! I love, love, love Madonna (I never advanced musically past age 15, so this makes sense).

Favorite Madonna song? Cherish. But I love her more recent stuff like Music and Ray of Light and Hung Up. I’m really excited for her new album. She’s actually got a track with Justin — which explains why he inducted her.

It definitely is Iggy Pop. He performed her music at the induction last night.

My favorite Madonna song is EXPRESS YOURSELF but I’m also fond of LA ISLA BONITA and CRAZY FOR YOU (I remember singing this to my first-born who just turned 23).

oh dear, i have to say i love iggy pop far more than i ever loved madonna. and while cyndi lauper may never have achieved the press that madonna did, she’s certainly still very popular, and has lived an amazing life and is currently running an amazing lineup of people on the “true colors tour”. if you haven’t listened to cyndi since the 80’s you’ve been missing out on some good stuff.

now go listen to iggy, he’s the one that ROCKS!

  6. deneishia says:

ok, I’m so sad that you don’t know Iggy. Besides the fab music he starred with Johnny Depp in Cry Baby heh heh heh.

  7. Janet says:

    Dude, that’s Iggy Pop!!! He’s amazing :-)

  8. Colleen says:

Ooops. Guess my ignorance is showing. Thanks for clearing that up, and sorry to Mr. Popp. *ducking*

(I wonder if anyone actually calls him that. He doesn’t look like a Mr. Popp to me.)

  9. Andrea says:

Don’t feel bad, Colleen, I didn’t know who he was either. *ducks* I just thought he needed to put a shirt on…

My favorite Madonna song is True Blue. It’s such a fun, upbeat song.
