Lacking any Jimmy Choos or Blahnicks, I may be underdressed…

…at the Sex and the City party I've been invited to tonight.

Yes indeed…a gal invited me to what sounds like a blast of an event, and I've been told to dress Carrie Bradshaw style. Nevertheless, I'm going to be attending, sans any big-name fashion statement. I will dress up, however, as I have the perfect gown and some decent shoes.

Here's the itinerary for this party:

*Arrive at Renee's house for martinis, to be served by her very own cabana boys husband and his friends. (Renee is a fabulous cook.)

* A coach limo or some sort of transpo will pick up the fifty(!!) of us and drive us to the local movie theater for the show. (Tickets have been prepurchased.)

* After the show, we'll be taken to the local martini bar for our own private party with special martinis made just for us.

*After a few drinks at the bar, we shall be returned to Renee's house for more martinis (yikes), fabulous hors d'oeuvres and Sex and the City trivia games, complete with prizes. I'm hoping to win Mr. Big, myself.

Sounds like fun, doesn't it? If I can, I'll post pics.

Anyone else going to see that this weekend? With girlfriends or not? (I had to disinvite Music Man from the party tonight; he wanted to come, but it's a girls only thing.)

ETA: Music Man happened to read this and he wanted me to mention that I already have "Mr. Big."

*snort*

Okay, our SATC night out isn’t going to be nearly as glamorous as yours…but it should still be fun.

    Post pictures!

  2. J says:

Ok, I’m so jealous… I am just going to see it with KC on Sunday afternoon. I bet I could give you a run for your money on the trivia game:-) I agree, post pictures Monday! J

Heading out tonight with my 3 best girlfriends! We’re meeting at one friend’s house (the only one without kids, so her place is always so pretty and clean. And QUIET!) We’re doing shrimp and sangria, and then off to the movie! We got tickets yesterday, and there was only 1 showing that wasn’t sold out, which kind of shocked us as we live in Small Town Alabama. Who knew there were so many SATC fans down here? :)

Hey, J…you certainly would be able to wipe the floor with me on the trivia game. I’ve only watched each episode once when I borrowed the DVDs from a friend and blazed through them. So I’m going to such at the trivia game.

But a couple of the prizes at the party are my books! So it’s a promo opportunity for me too.

Mel! Great to hear from you. Got your email and will be in touch asap. Thanks.

Rachel, I live in a small town in Michigan, and I hear that the shows are sold out here too. Whew.

Sounds fabulous! We’re meeting for Cosmos on Sunday night with about 10 girls to see the movie. I’m looking forward to it.

I DO hope you’ll post piccies, that would be fun.

    Have a blast!

Holy Cow! What an awesome friend you have. Quite the party planner there. I hope you have fun. Will prob wait for DVD before seeing. Unless my friend can convince me otherwise. Unless I hear that there is chicken in the movie, in which case I definately will not see it until it’s on DVD as I would prefer not to be known as The Woman Who Threw Up On Herself and Those In Front Of Her At The Cinema. *gags just thinking about the ‘C’ word.*

  7. Colleen says:

Er…AmandaG…are you pregnant? ‘Cause that’s just how I was with chicken when I was pg. Ugh.

  8. AmandaG says:

Why yes I am. Thanks for asking. =) I’m crazy but not that much.
