Mark your calendars.

If you can’t come to one of my official events, this is for you.

Mark your calendars for Tuesday at 8:30 PM EST.

Join me for a live webcast celebrating the release of my new book. Listen to me talk (heh), or, better yet, ask questions you’ve always wanted answered…and there will be door prizes.

Go here to check out the site. I’ll see you on Tuesday! (Or, rather, you’ll see me.)

In the category of…Duh!

And I mean, “duh!” not “doh!” (There is a difference. Savvy?)

So, yeah. *rolling eyes* As if we had to be alerted to the fact that texting could be hazardous to your health.

In my book, it’s sort of common sense that when you’re walking, you pay attention to where you’re going. Same with driving. Which follows that, if you’re texting while you’re walking, you really have to pay attention. Or….duh! you could walk into someone or fall off a curb and twist your ankle.

Not exactly a newsflash.

And in other duh-related news…yesterday someone actually forwarded to me the old (old, old, old, old) scam about forwarding emails around so that Microsoft will pay you $250 for everyone you forward to. Riiiiight.

(If you don’t know what I’m talking about, or if you just want a good laugh at the reminder of how gullible some people are…go here.)

So, it’s not Tuesday, but there’s my rant!

Win stuff. Have fun. Ask questions.

So you all know that Tuesday is the release day for When Twilight Burns. (Of course you know that.)

Lots of fun things going on, including a chance to get all creative and win a Vis Bulla tee….plus an advance copy of As Shadows Fade (the last Victoria Gardella book, coming in March!).

Carl over at the wonderful Stainless Steel Droppings is hosting his third “A Picture is Worth…” contest for When Twilight Burns. Buy the book next week, take a picture of yourself with it, and be entered to win one of two prize packs.

Here are the details. Based on the cover, I’m really looking forward to the pictures this time…..mwahahahaaaaaa.

Also, to celebrate Tuesday’s release, I’m doing a live webcast that evening. You’ll be able to log in to a real-time event where I’ll be…well, talking, signing books, chatting, and answering real-time questions from you.

All you need is a computer and the Internet. More info on that when I have a link for you to check it out.

There will be prizes raffled off that night for attendees, so mark your calendars: Tuesday, August 5, 8:30 PM EST.

And now that my blog issues are fixed, hopefully things will settle down here a bit.

Blog update/upgrade

So Lynn alerted me to the fact that with my recent upgrade on Wordpress, the email subscribers didn’t transfer.

So we’ve fixed that, and I have a much happier version of Wordpress running my blog now, and the anti-spam should also be “Gardella-ized” once again.

If you’re a frequent reader/lurker, you can subscribe to update notifications by adding your email address there…to the right. You’ll get an update whenever I publish a new blog. Saves you from having to check, dontchaknow.

Ewwwww.

Bacon-scented candles anyone?

Apparently, an enterprising young man got tired of walking into Bath & Body Works or Yankee Candle and being assaulted by “girly” fragrances. (My word, not his. As far as I know.)

So he created his own line of…wait for it…Mandles. Man candles.

With scents like bacon, jalapeno bacon cheeseburger, leather, and….oh God….hunting lodge.

Okay, I could deal with the leather scent. (After all, a girl doesn’t usually mind burying her face in her guy’s black leather.)

But Hunting Lodge?

Who in their right mind would want to smell a hunting lodge–let alone would pay for the privilege of bringing the aroma (and I use that word loosely) home with them?

Ugh.

So…tell me true. If you were going to suggest a scent for (heh) Mandles…what would you suggest?

And guys…I know you’re out there…would you buy a Mandle? *snort*

(Sorry. I can’t help it.)
