Bacon-scented candles anyone?
Apparently, an enterprising young man got tired of walking into Bath & Body Works or Yankee Candle and being assaulted by “girly” fragrances. (My word, not his. As far as I know.)
So he created his own line of…wait for it…Mandles. Man candles.
With scents like bacon, jalapeno bacon cheeseburger, leather, and….oh God….hunting lodge.
Okay, I could deal with the leather scent. (After all, a girl doesn’t usually mind burying her face in her guy’s black leather.)
But Hunting Lodge?
Who in their right mind would want to smell a hunting lodge–let alone would pay for the privilege of bringing the aroma (and I use that word loosely) home with them?
Ugh.
So…tell me true. If you were going to suggest a scent for (heh) Mandles…what would you suggest?
And guys…I know you’re out there…would you buy a Mandle? *snort*
(Sorry. I can’t help it.)

The word ‘mandle’ certainly brings other things to my mind. I’m not sure I’d want to just ask any ol’ person to grab my mandle…or to light my mandle, for that matter. I also wouldn’t necessarily want to be asked ‘Do you like the smell of my mandle?’.
As much as I like the smell of WD-40 and fresh pine scents I prefer the more ‘girly’ scents for my home. My favorite would be something with an apple scent, and definitely cinnamon in the fall/winter.
More power to him…those kind of scents always remind me of my deodorant though and that isn’t something I want my whole house to smell like.

Bacon scented candles? No, thanks, but I’ll defend hunting lodge. When I think of a hunting lodge scent, I think of the woods and the smells of fall - clean, crisp air, wood smoke, fallen leaaves…
Of course, I’m a girl and who knows what a man thinks a hunting lodge smells like…

Ha! This is just hilarious! I have to say that it is a rather neat idea, but the idea of bacon for a scented candle…ew, no thank you!
Let’s see though, if I had to pick a fragrance for a mandle, I’d have to pick pine. That was my dad’s favorite scent and it reminds me of when he would chop up wood for a family fire. I know, it’s sentimental, but hey it’s masculine right?

Um, I like the smell of bacon frying, but as a candle, er, mandle? No, thanks.
How about good old fashioned musk? LOL
