As you can see, I’ve been a miserable blogger despite my attempts to the contrary. But I’ve been very active on my Facebook fan page (I guess I can only handle one form of social media at a time…).

Here’s what’s happening over there, for the curious. Come on over and say hi!

After learning from a friend of mine that her new MacBookPro’s hard drive crashed a few weeks ago, and fully aware that I never, never back up my brand new MacBookPro laptop (which is completely foolish as I do most/all of my new writing there), I made a trip to the Apple store today to get a portable hard drive for said laptop.

(Which, I think, I’ve named Buffy, by the way. The laptop, not the hard-drive. Considering the fact, however, that the hard-drive plugs in to Buffy, perhaps I ought to name it….Spike. It’s sleek and red and very, very sexy.)

Spike, my sexy portable hard drive. Emphasis on the *hard*.

Anyway. *cough* Feeling virtuous as I am sitting here at Panera watching that little red hard drive work very hard to back up my Buffy-top and blogging.

Will wonders never cease?

President-elect Obama is working hard to quit two habits: smoking and his BlackBerry.

I don’t have a BlackBerry or an iPhone, so I’m still relegated to getting my emails from an old-fashioned computer. But I’d sure like to get one. I love gadgets. I’m a little bit of a geek-girl; the technology expert in our house (although MiniMe is quickly gaining).

Once upon a time, many many years ago, Music Man was a computer programmer. That was before I met him, and since I met him, he’s become a Music Man and hasn’t looked at a computer for…years. Literally. I do his email and anything related to Google or etc., and he has all he can handle with his cell phone and…wheee!…an old HP PDA.

Nothing wrong with that. But I am wondering how long I can hold out before I have to have an iPhone or BlackBerry. Maybe for my birthday?

What about you? How are you wired nowadays? Or, should I say, wired-less? Are you addicted? Would you go back to a non-email-accessible phone?

(Side note: I know that many/most phones do allow some Internet and/or email access, but they’re just not easy like the ‘Berries and ‘Phones.)

Okay. Let me have it. What should I do? iPhone? Berry? What?

So I was over on Amazon today and right on the front page was a dangling carrot that I could not resist.

I’ve been thinking about buying a Kindle for a variety of reasons…partly because I think it’d be like an actor not having a DVD player. Or an iPod. Or whatever.

And so they’re giving a $100 rebate sort of thing if you apply for an Amazon Visa and buy a Kindle.

So, yeah, I did it. And I’m so excited!

Everyone I know who has one just loves their Kindle. I’ll report later when I get mine (some time next week?)

My only worry is that it might make it hard to read in the bathtub. Dare I?

So Lynn alerted me to the fact that with my recent upgrade on WordPress, the email subscribers didn’t transfer.

So we’ve fixed that, and I have a much happier version of WordPress running my blog now, and the anti-spam should also be “Gardella-ized” once again.

If you’re a frequent reader/lurker, you can subscribe to update notifications by adding your email address there…to the right. You’ll get an update whenever I publish a new blog. Saves you from having to check, dontchaknow.
