What ebook files work for each device/app?
  • Kindle: mobi
  • Nook: epub
  • Kobo: epub, mobi
  • Apple iBooks: epub
  • Google Books: epub

How do I download files from a computer to my device?
  1. After you claim your file, check the email you sent it to.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the email, and click on the attachment to download the file.
  3. When you download a file, it is automatically sent to your “Downloads” folder unless you have picked a different default location for downloads.
  4. Connect your Kindle, Nook, or Kobo device (you can also connect iOS and Android devices) with the appropriate USB cable.
  5. Locate the folder for your device under the “My Computer” folder on Windows. On a Mac, your device will show up in the sidebar of any “Finder” window.
  6. Drag and drop your ebook files directly onto the device.
  7. You may now enjoy your book!

Where can I find my ebook in my email?
  1. After you claim your file, check the email you sent it to.
  2. You should receive an email saying, “Here is your claimed book!”
  3. You will have to scroll to the bottom of the email to find the ebook attachment.
  4. Click on the file and it should download to your “Downloads” folder on your desktop or Android device. You can choose to download it to a specific folder.

How do I download Kindle files to my iPhone/iPad?
  1. From your email app, tap and hold the file to bring up a menu.
  2. Select “Open in Kindle.”

How do I download Kindle files to my Android device?
  1. From your email app, save the file to your device.
  2. Go to the downloaded file on your phone.
  3. If it is a recently downloaded file, it should be at the top of the list (e.g. Lion’s First Roar.mobi).
  4. Select the file. Then you should be able to press a drop down menu, and select “Move.”
  5. Folders will pop up on your device. Press the Kindle folder and then “Move Here.”
  6. Now it will be in your Kindle app.

Some devices will have you press on the file for a couple of seconds. A menu will come up, and you can select “share.” From the list of apps that appears, select “Send to Kindle.”


What email should I use to claim on Kindle?
  1. Please log into your Amazon account first, and then continue with the instructions.
  2. Visit Amazon’s page on managing your content and devices.
  3. Click on “Your Devices” to see your different Kindle devices and the email addresses associated with them.
  4. Click on each device separately to see what its Kindle email address is. This is the email you should enter when you purchase/download the ebook file.

How do I add ebook files to my Nook?
  1. You can find your personal files added to your Nook in the “My Files” app.
  2. Add personal files by plugging your device into your computer with the Nook’s USB cord.
  3. Drag and drop files directly onto your Nook, which will appear as a storage device.

Alternatively, you can use the Dropbox application to save and share files with your Nook device and with others. When you save files to Dropbox, your device automatically syncs with the web server and any other computers that have Dropbox installed.


How do I add ebook files to the Nook App?

Download and open the Nook app from Barnes & Noble, Google’s Play Store, Apple’s App Store, or any other app marketplace.

  1. In the “My Library” tab of your account, choose the option to “Add a File” at the top of the application screen.
  2. Purchase or download your book, using your own email on the to receive the epub file.
  3. When you receive the epub file in your email, you should be able to drag it directly into your Nook library space.

Any book that is a part of the library associated with your account should be available on all devices that are logged into your Nook account. However, there are several bugs that occasionally prevent this from happening. To get downloaded ebooks in both your desktop and mobile application, you may have to upload them separately.


How do I add ebook files to my Kobo?

You can quickly add personal files to your Kobo by plugging your device into your computer with the bundled USB cord. Drag and drop files directly onto your Kobo, which will appear as a storage device.

Additionally, you can download the free Kobo app to read whenever and wherever you want, and sync your account across multiple devices. Supported devices include iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry 10, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, and Windows 10.


How do I add ebook files to iBooks?

You can utilize Apple’s iBooks software on all Apple devices. iBooks uses iCloud to manage libraries across devices. Adding an ebook file to the iBooks folder on your desktop should make the file available on your mobile app.

Note: iBooks only accepts epub files.

  1. Purchase or download your book.
  2. Download or open the file from your email onto any Apple/iOS device.
  3. When the file has downloaded, it will automatically open in iBooks.
  4. If it doesn’t, simply drag the file into the iBooks library.
  5. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your ebook!

How do I add ebook files to Google Books?

If you have a Gmail account, you can utilize Google Books. Uploading an ebook file to your account will let you access it on any device that has a Google Books app.

Note: Google Books only accepts epub files.

  1. Purchase or download your book.
  2. Download the file from your email onto your computer.
  3. Go to your Google Books account.
  4. Click the “My Books on Google Play” link
  5. Click on “Uploads,” and then “Upload files.” Select your downloaded book.
